Setting Your Preferences

In ProfitHunter, you can set a preferred marketplace preference and you can set custom fees to include in automated product analysis like that done by the ASIN Scanner.

Set Your Preferred Marketplace

If you primarily sell in one marketplace like Canada, the US, or Mexico, you can select to make that marketplace your "preferred marketplace" when using ProfitHunter tools. You can always select to switch marketplaces when using tools for product research but selecting a preferred marketplace will save you time by auto selecting your preferred marketplace every time you use a tool.

Select Preferred Marketplace

To set a preferred marketplace simply go to Profile (top right corner) and then next to marketplace select the flag for your preferred marketplace and click save.

Setting Custom Fees In ProfitHunter

While many of the fees associated with selling on Amazon are directly from Amazon, there are some fees that might be unique to your business including;

  1. % of CPU - If you get discounts from your suppliers or use cash back credit cards to purchase inventory, you might want to consider those discounts to your Costs Per Units when analyzing products. For example, if you use a 2% cash back card to buy inventory in the US, you will want to put 2% in the US field under CPU % off. ProfitHunter will then deduct 2% of the CPU as a credit when calculating your profit on products analyzed in the US marketplace.

  2. Fees By Weight - Inbound shipping to FBA costs depend on many factors including where you are shipping products from/to, if you are shippig with SPD or LTL, and how your inventory is packed. To make you estimated profit in ProfitHunter more accurate you can add a cost per pound (or kilo depending on marketplace) to your preferences and ProfitHunter will get the shipping weight of each ASIN and apply your estimated Cost Per Weight as an expense to each ASIN analyzed. For example, if you in the US you estimate inbound shipping to be $2 per pound, ProfitHunter will deduct the products weight X $2 as an extra expense when calculating your estimated profit.

  3. Fees by Unit - If you regularly use prep centers or have other expanse associated with shipping products to FBA, you can use this field to deduct those fees as an expense when ProfitHunter estimates your profit. For example, if you use a prep center that charges $1.50 to prep and ship each item to FBA, you can enter $1.50 and ProfitHunter will deduct $1.50 for each unit when it estimates your profit on ASINs.

  4. Tax (IVA/VAT) - If you are based in Mexico, you likely have to pay IVA or VAT which will cut into your profits. Adding your unique tax rate in the tax column will enable ProfitHunter to automatically deduct tax as an expense when estimating your profit.
